Voice
Ms. Avila holds a Master’s of Music degree in Vocal Performance from The Royal Danish Academy of Music and a Bachelors of Music from the Peabody Conservatory at John Hopkins University. She began her vocal private studio while working on her Master’s degree in Copenhagen in 2007. Ms. Avila has worked as the main vocal instructor, choral director and music teacher at the Roxy Performing Arts Center in Miami, Florida (2009 to 2013), where she was involved developing the vocal music curriculum. Taught private voice lessons to all ages and levels of experience, conducted choral ensembles, taught theory, ear training and repertoire classes.
As a performer, Ms. Avila has worked with Opera Naples, Gulfshore Opera, Miami Lyric Opera, Sobe Arts, Miami International Piano Festival, Orchestra Miami, Symphony of the Americas, Miami Symphony Orchestra, Sociedad Proarte Grateli, Sociedad Proarte Latinoamericana, Emerald City Opera, Miami Opera Institute, Florida Chamber Orchestra, Russian Opera Workshop, Danish Radio Choir and Orchestra, Royal Danish Academy Choir and Orchestra and the Amager Music Festival, among others.
Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards, including: Semi Finalist in the New York Lyric Opera Competition (2015), Semi Finalist in the Marcello Giordani International Opera Competition (2013), Encouragement Award in the Florida Suncoast Opera Guild Competition (2012), Encouragement Award in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (2010), and George Castelle Memorial Award at The Peabody Conservatory (2007). Ms. Avila has been part of the Conchita Espinosa Conservatory of the Arts faculty since 2019.
