Congratulations to Ms. Vazquez and our amazing young artists for the success of this year’s art show! Themed “What a Wonderful World,” it was a celebration of beauty and joy. Florida Young Artists International Piano Competition

Congratulations to four of our Conservatory piano students who participated in the 5th Florida Young Artists International Piano Competition! Felipe Diez (high school division, 14 years old) was selected as a finalist for the Category D Piano Solo. Oscar Mosquera, David Rodriguez, and Eduardo Diaz (3rd grade) all advanced to the semi-finalist round in the Category B Piano Solo Division. Hundreds of young pianists from around the world competed. We are very proud of their hard work and talent! Congratulations to their teachers: Yirka Ledon, Music Department Head and David’s teacher and Ileana Cortizo, Felipe, Oscar, and Eduardo’s teacher!

Spring Music Concerts

The Spring Music Concerts featured the CEC music students across the department’s various levels. Concerts took place from April 24th through May 3rd at 5:30 p.m in CEA’s Rosita Segovia Theatre. As part of our 90th Anniversary celebrations, the Conservatory Music Department presented the Conchita Legacy Concert. The Legacy Concert featured our Conservatory music faculty, as well as select Conservatory music students. Our community is blessed to count on incredibly talented and celebrated artists as part of our faculty. Spanish Dance Department at Jornadas Español Excelente

The Spanish dance department was honored to open the Jornadas Español Excelente Conference for Spanish language educators presented by Universidad de Salamanca and Edinumen at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart. The conference brought together global leaders in Spanish education, including the Consejería de Educación de España, AATSP, Center for Applied Linguistics, and the Miami Trade Commission. For 87 years, Conchita Espinosa Conservatory of the Arts (CEC) has maintained their commitment to the development of young artists. CEC offers students exceptional technical and artistic training within a nurturing environment that allows them to develop into human beings with a deep understanding, appreciation, and respect for the Arts. Enrollment is open to the community and not limited to students from the Academy. Classes are also available for professionals and adults.
